MANTIS SHRIMP
Eagle vision has been talked about for as long as anyone can remember, yet the mantis shrimp has the most impressive eyes of any animal. This group of invertebrates has earned the nickname «small but deadly» due to their strong forearms, which allow them to deliver the world’s fastest punch. Mantis shrimp have been shown to hit their prey with the force of a rifle bullet and have even been observed to break the shells and vessels of crabs.
These little critters are neither mantises nor shrimps, despite their common name. Although they share some ancestry with shrimp, these creatures belong to the stomatopod phylum.
